Frames & Time Converter — How it Works

If you’re editing video, creating animations, or working with timecodes, you’ve probably run into a common headache: converting frames to time, or time to frames. Maybe you need to figure out how long a 500-frame clip lasts at 23.976 fps. Or you’ve got a timecode from your video editor and want to know how many frames you’re looking at.
This calculator does all that in seconds. No more complicated math or endless Googling for formulas.

How to use this calculator

It’s extremely simple. First, enter your FPS value (frames per second). This is the frame rate your project uses — for example, 24, 25, 30, 60, or any custom value. You can use decimals too (like 23.976).

If you want to know how long a certain number of frames will last, just type that number in the Frames box and press “Frames → Time.” Instantly, you’ll see the duration as a SMPTE timecode (HH:MM:SS:FF), total seconds, and also minutes and seconds. You’ll even see how many frames there are in an hour at that FPS.

If you want to know how many frames are in a specific time, just fill in the time fields — hours, minutes, seconds, and frames (for example, 01:02:03:12) — and hit “Time → Frames.” The calculator will tell you exactly how many frames that is, along with the same detailed breakdown.

Why is this useful?

Whether you’re working in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or any other video editor, you’ll often need to jump between time and frames.
Maybe you need to sync animation to audio, cut a sequence to a beat, or just deliver a project that matches a strict timecode. With this tool, you always know the exact answer — instantly, with zero risk of mistakes.
